Bayernmoor Winery

A Pinot focused winery at Woodin Creek, with the option of paired food & wine tasting!

Bayernmoor Winery

Bayernmoor Winery is in the Woodin Creek area. They focus on pinot noirs, with grapes from Stanwood, WA.

The tasting room was beautiful, with a modern touch, nice finishes, nothing cheap about it. Opened in 2021. They welcomed us with a 2019 Horse Heaven Hills Rose. It was quite good, not too sweet. They paired it with a house made focaccia, which was a nice gesture.

They offered a mixed tasting of white, and reds, and a separate "Nothing but Pinot" tasting flight. Additionally, you could choose to pair these tastings with food at additional cost. We chose the Pinot tasting flight.

Their approach was Burgundy style, aged in French Oak, finished in neutral barrels. The 2018 Precoce Pinot was our favorite. It was floral, white flowers-like, with a nice bright fruit and well balanced, without being acidic. Price point a little high at $50.

Worth mentioning is their 2018 Pinot Noir "Clone 777" - an unusual pinot, with musty (wet socks), earthy on the nose.

Their Bayernmoor Estate blend unfortunately fell quite flat, while the Washington State Pinot Noir offered a lower price by blending the Precoce with 2 other varieties.

I would return simply for the ambience, and to have a glass of the Precoce, and perhaps some snacks.
